My goal with Simul-story was to make a comic that simulates experiencing these two realities simultaneously. I put a lot of research and experimentation into developing a method that would achieve this. What I landed on is something between anaglyphs and red reveal decoders. I scoured the internet, conventions, and local comic shops and I have yet to find a technique like this used in comics before (at least not to my knowledge). How exciting!

What is Simul-Story? Growing up as a chronic daydreamer, I lived in two worlds at once. I was in the real world, but I was also in the far more exciting fantasy worlds of my imagination.

The comic was very well received by comic enthusiasts online and was even selected by the Library of Congress to be included in their special collections!

I had a lot of fun playing and developing this method and crafting this comic. Fittingly, it brought me back to being the kid you see in this story.

See the effect in action!

Watch this video for a proper demonstration on how the comic works and to hear me yap about the process!

Physical copies may be out of stock but a pdf version will always be available
